Welcome to My Little Feet!

Voted Townsville’s Best Childcare Centres

Hi I’m Summer King, Centre Owner of My Little Feet. Nearly ten years ago I began consulting in the childcare sector and fell in love with the industry!

I love working with all of the incredible Educators (I’m not sure I could do what they do on a daily basis), and getting to know all of the little people and their families.

It’s such a humbling opportunity to contribute to the programs and training that ultimately bolster children’s development, and parent’s relationships with their children.

A vision I have for our centres is to provide more than just a place for your children to be taken care of while you are at work. As a Clinical Psychologist, I place huge importance and value on the early years as providing the strongest possible foundation for a child’s emotional, social, and academic development throughout their lifetime. I believe that every child’s journey is individual, and aim to provide all the My Little Feet team members with the training and support needed to help children at our centres grow and flourish.

I want our centres to become a community within themselves, where parents can work with our Educators to achieve the best possible outcomes for their children, and for the children to have a whole lot of fun in the process.

My experience working as a Psychologist with parents and children in private practice and the child protection sector, have further reinforced the importance of early learning centres as a secure base for so many aspects of their lives. I aim to incorporate evidence-based practices, training, and strategies into the service’s program delivery to ensure we are always operating in the best interests of the children and families that attend. Since having my own children attend childcare, I have gained a deeper appreciation for the perspectives and needs as a parent.

I have also previously worked as a Psychologist in the HR sector, and am fully aware that a happy team, particularly in the childcare sector, means happy families. I aim to foster a workplace that feels like family.

Welcome to My Little Feet where your child can flourish and thrive.

Our Values

Growth

In everything that we do, our aim is to constantly improve and grow to provide an individually tailored experience for all families that attend. We place a huge focus on emotional growth as well as developmental growth.

Quality

The benefit of operating only a small number of centres, is that we are able to maintain our high level of quality without compromise or anything ‘slipping through the cracks’. Our programming, environments, resources, food, and staff are of the highest quality and this is reflected in positive, happy learning experiences.

Community

Our tight-knit My Little Feet community means that you will always feel warm and welcomed when you enter our Centres. Our team will always greet you warmly, care for your child attentively, and respond to any feedback or suggestions you may have.
