Our educators at My Little Feet Early Learning want your child to be as successful as possible at school. Success in prep is not dependent on your child’s knowledge of the alphabet or numeracy it is also about knowing how to learn and how to get along with others. All year we work on preparing your child socially and emotionally for prep.

At the moment we have decided to bring forward the unit on emotion management to suit the current needs of our preschool class. That is the beauty of our Second Step program, while we try our hardest to deliver the program on the provided weekly schedule it is completely flexible allowing you to change the order of the units so you are following the needs and interests of your children.

This unit on emotion management is all about students learning specific skills for calming down when experiencing strong feelings such as anxiety, frustration and anger. Families cannot believe how much this program is assisting their children to regulate their own emotions. Through this program the children become more independent in managing their emotions in a wide range of situations.

It is also important for children to feel that there is someone there they trust to guide and support them to feel safe, calm and happy. Our educators provide warm responsive and trusting care that assists the children in building confidence and optimism about what they are capable of achieving which is important in developing a sense of identity.
